Many food writers and critics tend to skip the midwest when looking for the best BBQ to write about–or eat. Those writers make an exception when it comes to Smoque BBQ. It has been listed among the absolute best BBS in the US by The Tasting Table, as well as the Best BBQ in Chicago, according to Pitmasters. It is also credited with bringing Texas-style barbecue to Chicago.

Having evolved past the traditional items, Smoque keeps fans coming back with new menu items made with consistency, love, and lots of smokey flavor. The north side spot is also well known for its sides, in which there is as much care and flavor as the brisket. And don’t skip the pecan caramel bread pudding.
